WHY CHOOSE NEW BEGINNINGS?
We are aware that parents have many options to choose from when deciding upon their children’s medical care, and we welcome the opportunity to tell you what sets New Beginnings apart.
New Beginnings Pediatrics has served the Fox Valley for many years; in addition to the tri-cities area, many of our patients come from North Aurora, South Elgin, Elburn, Oswego, Yorkville, and Sugar Grove. We have built our reputation on doing what we do—taking care of children—as well as it can be done. Rather than broadening our reach, New Beginnings remains exclusively a Pediatric practice. That means everyone in our office—from the front desk, to the nurses, to the physicians and support staff—is dedicated exclusively to your children. When our patients call us, they will always speak to a person—someone who has made a career out of tending to your child’s healthcare needs, and who will take pride in answering all your questions. As well-informed advocates for their children’s health, parents have challenging questions. We take the time to answer them carefully, and to help you find good information.
We provide the full range of pediatric healthcare services. These include newborn care at Delnor Community Hospital, comprehensive well-child care from birth through college, school and sports physicals, and developmental screening. We provide care of ill children in the office, in consultation with the Emergency Room, and on the Pediatric inpatient ward at Delnor, and we care for special needs and adopted children. We also provide referral to specialists when needed.
Additional services we offer, which are unique to New Beginnings, include our Walk-In Hours, our Extended office hours, our weekly Meet & Greet sessions, and our monthly educational sessions, which are complimentary. We also dedicate one evening of our personal time each month to hold a meeting with all the physicians and mid-level practitioners in our practice. This helps us ensure that, as a group, we are up-to-date and “on the same page” about new developments in pediatric medicine, and that we address new issues in the most consistent and efficient manner possible. We also use this time to fine-tune the day to day operation of our office, so that your experience at New Beginnings will be smooth and seamless. We welcome suggestions and discuss them at these meetings, with the goal of serving you better.
Our physicians have been educated and trained at, or on the medical staff of, most every major Pediatric teaching hospital in the Chicagoland area, including the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital, Children’s Memorial Hospital, Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center, the University of Illinois Children’s Hospital, and Christ/Hope Children’s Hospital. We maintain good working relationships with many of the city’s most prominent experts in all specialties of Pediatrics, and we will do what it takes to find the most outstanding specialty care for your child should the need ever arise.
Our office is conveniently located in the Medical Office Building of Delnor Community Hospital, which offers two distinct advantages. First, patients who require bloodwork or a radiology study, such as an xray or an ultrasound, need only walk down the hall from our office. Second, we are only a short indoor walk away from our patients who are in the Newborn or Special Care Nursery, on the Pediatric inpatient ward, or in the Emergency Room. That allows us to stay better connected to our patients and families during times of illness or need. We are also pleased to offer a waiting room area for well patients that is separate from the “ill” waiting room, in order to minimize the chance of allowing illness to spread.
New Beginnings has been ahead of the curve in embracing electronic medical records, a move that we believe serves our patients well. All of your child’s records, including office visits, immunizations, phone calls, laboratory work, and letters written by specialists, are in one place and easily accessible. At the same time, the privacy of those records is closely guarded, and only providers and staff who are directly involved in your child’s care are able to access them.
Finally, and incredibly, our seven providers are the parents of a combined nineteen children ourselves, ranging in age from one year to the mid-teens, and including two children adopted from Africa. This enriches our medical knowledge with extensive experience in the nitty-gritty of parenting. We have been up in the middle of the night with our babies and children just like you have (or will be), we have lived through dinner and bedtime battles, temper tantrums, and car-pool stress--and we get it. And we are “in the know” about a wide range of services for children in our area—from schools to daycares to camps and activities.
